The Danger: Blacks and Latinos are the lowest performing students; they receive the fewest STEM degrees, and in about 33 years their groups will attain majority status. Considering that in 60 years Brown v. Board of Education has resulted in some NYC schools more segregated and failing than southern schools in the time of defacto segregation, will 33 years be enough time if we do nothing starting from now? The Department of Naval Research is worried that colleges will not produce enough STEM graduates to replace its aging high-tech defense workforce. What will the future bode for our country when we will have to secretly employ high-tech workers from the banned nations to work in our defense department?
